Branding Workshop: participants rate 9.25 out of 10!

2 November 2012

With a response rate of 67%, 8 out of 12 participants on our Branding Workshop rated the workshop 9.25 out of 10, when asked "Would you recommend this workshop to colleagues?" Using the Net Promoter System, the overall score is a +75 satisfaction rate (which can range from -100 to +100).

Some quotes from workshop participants include:

“This course was great! From beginning to end we were kept engaged with the right amount of theory and real-world application, specifically examples that applied to education industry. I really enjoyed the way in which the course was taught - it was highly interactive, had the right amount of group work and above all there was no doubt that Tim and Thijs are both experts in their field (not to mention thoroughly entertaining). Since returning to work I have already been able to apply, and argue the principles behind, much of what we learnt. I will definitely be putting my hand up for upcoming workshops!” Korinne Algie – ICEF

“The strong focus on higher education in this branding course was really good. Clear examples of websites and social media were used. This, combined with a very international group of participants all strongly linked to HE, created a great setting for improving our brand. On top of that, some useful practical models and instruments were presented.” Nienke Bastiaans – University of Groningen

“What I appreciated most in the workshop was that, beyond the introduction to brand theory, it gave me the opportunity to learn from your experience and expertise. Remembering one thing you said about consistency I would say that you “live and breathe” the knowledge you imparted. If I can make a suggestion it would be that the course could be extended to three or even three and a half days, with a greater number of assignments to let the acquired new knowledge “sink in” stepwise.”
Simone Heiderscheid - Universite du Luxembourg

StudyPortals is the European Study-Choice platform. It brings transparency for students to the wealth of study opportunities in Europe's unifying Higher Education Market. StudyPortals started out a little over 3 years ago as MastersPortal.eu. It is a spin-off from a couple of large international study associations that saw a massive information gap for finding international masters in Europe: MastersPortal.eu was born and proved to be a big success. The company was further professionalized by founding StudyPortals BV, a private enterprise, which now also publishes BachelorsPortal.eu, PhDportal.eu, ScholarshipPortal.eu and ShortCoursesPortal.eu. The team consists of 20 people spread over 4 countries, with the centre of our operations in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

StudyPortals currently cooperates with over 950 universities in Europe, and in addition with the European Commission and many national institutes such as the DAAD, Nuffic and British Council.

"We are very happy to have Thijs van Vugt join our team. There are very few people in the world with the professional experience Thijs has and that will be very valuable to both advise our partner universities to get the maximum out of our platform, as well as in advising us to further optimize the portfolio and our services", says Edwin van Rest, CEO of StudyPortals.

For the remainder of his time Thijs will continue to work as a consultant to HEIs in Europe and beyond as he has been doing successfully in the last 5.5. years.

Successful first edition of workshop: Branding Higher Education Institutions

25 June 2011

The very first, joint workshop with open registration on Branding Higher Education Institutions in collaboration with Tim Rogers on 16 & 17 June 2011 was a big success. The workshop had 10 participants from 4 different countries.

Here is what one of the participants said about the workshop:

"Very clear and workable structure of the workshop. Well-balanced division between the lectures and the interactive part of the workshop. Useful knowledge and skills to be applied (some familiar, some new). Loved your accessibility: openness to opinions, sharing best practices, welcoming discussions yet always linking it somehow to the topic at hand."

"Very prompt replies, which I personally liked considering my late application [...] Temperature downstairs sometimes a bit too warm, luckily we had an escape above or even outside. Food (and personnel) excellent: best catered venue I visited so far! "
