Former EAIE President Joins iE&D Solutions

Gudrun Paulsdottir Senior Consultant
On 1 December 2013 Gudrun Paulsdottir, Immediate Past President of the EAIE and International Strategist at Mälardalen University in Sweden joined iE&D Solutions BV.
Gudrun has extensive experience in international education having worked in the sector for over 20 years. At Mälardalen University she she has held positions such as International Strategist, International Advisor to the Vice Chancellor, Director for the Division for Student Affairs, Director of the International Office, and as Head of Admission, Degrees and International Office.
Gudrun has been an active member of EAIE for many, many years. She was the President of the EAI, between 2010 and 2012 and Vice-President of the same organisation from 2008 to 2010. She has held seats on the Executive Board, the Professional Development Committee, and the Conference Programme Committee.

VPRO, a Dutch broadcast organisation, will air a documentary tonight called Education, education. The documentary is part of a series on poverty and shows how Chinese students try to escape poverty by enrolling at many private universities in China. iE&D Solutions' associate consultant, Yicheng Guo, was interviewed by VPRO Gids to give his expert view on this situation in China.

Branding Workshop: participants rate 9.25 out of 10!

With a response rate of 67%, 8 out of 12 participants on our Branding Workshop rated the workshop 9.25 out of 10, when asked "Would you recommend this workshop to colleagues?" Using the Net Promoter System, the overall score is a +75 satisfaction rate (which can range from -100 to +100).

Coming soon: Market Monitor India

Before Christmas we will launch the Market Monitor India as well as the revised Market Monitor China. These two report will also mark the start of our joint publications together with StudyPortals.
Compared to our previous Market Monitors the new reports will also include highly valuable and usefull statistics on the popularity of discisplines and study programmes, amongst students from the country concerned, in relation to the number of programmes listed on the websites of StudyPortals as well as compared to students from all over the world. This will reveal some highly interesting information in terms of product-market combinations and on which countries universities should focus their recruitment for specific degree programmes. Furthermore, information on the orientation pattern throughout the year will be presented.
In due time all Market Monitors will include these statistics.

Thijs van Vugt appointed as Senior Business Development Manager

As of 1 July 2011 iE&D Solutions partner Thijs van Vugt will commence work for StudyPortalsBV in Eindhoven as their Senior Business Development Manager. Thijs will be working for StudyPortals for 50% of his time to help further develop and grow the business of StudyPortals.
StudyPortals is the European Study-Choice platform. It brings transparency for students to the wealth of study opportunities in Europe's unifying Higher Education Market. StudyPortals started out a little over 3 years ago as MastersPortal.eu. It is a spin-off from a couple of large international study associations that saw a massive information gap for finding international masters in Europe: MastersPortal.eu was born and proved to be a big success. The company was further professionalized by founding StudyPortals BV, a private enterprise, which now also publishes BachelorsPortal.eu, PhDportal.eu, ScholarshipPortal.eu and ShortCoursesPortal.eu. The team consists of 20 people spread over 4 countries, with the centre of our operations in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
StudyPortals currently cooperates with over 950 universities in Europe, and in addition with the European Commission and many national institutes such as the DAAD, Nuffic and British Council.

Successful first edition of workshop: Branding Higher Education Institutions

The very first, joint workshop with open registration on Branding Higher Education Institutions in collaboration with Tim Rogers on 16 & 17 June 2011 was a big success. The workshop had 10 participants from 4 different countries.
